Stamped concrete patios in Chattanooga, TN

Patios, pool decks, and walkways with a finish that fits your home — built on the same solid base and reinforcement we put under any slab, then colored, stamped, and sealed.

A decorative patio is still a concrete slab. The finish is what you see, but the base, the reinforcement, and the joints are what keep it flat and crack-free for the next 20 years. JMF Concrete Co. builds the structure right first, then puts the finish you want on top.

What we build

  • Backyard and covered patios
  • Pool decks and surrounds
  • Walkways, garden paths, and stepping runs
  • Fire-pit and grill pads, outdoor kitchen slabs
  • Front porches, stoops, and steps

Finish options

  • Broom finish — clean, classic, and the most budget-friendly
  • Exposed aggregate — washed to reveal the stone, naturally slip-resistant
  • Stamped — ashlar slate, seamless stone, wood plank, brick, and cobble patterns
  • Integral color and stain — color mixed into the slab, plus accent stains and dyes
  • Borders and bands — saw-cut scoring or a contrasting stamped border around a broom field

How we do stamped concrete right

  • Compacted base and a reinforced slab — no shortcuts under the pretty part
  • Integral color batched into the mix so chips and wear don't show a grey scar
  • Pour, screed, and float; broadcast color hardener and release for depth and contrast
  • Stamp while the concrete is still plastic, working the pattern in sequence
  • Hand-detail the joints, edges, and any borders
  • Sawcut control joints hidden inside the pattern lines
  • Pressure-wash after cure and apply a breathable sealer

Keeping it looking new

Reseal every two to three years, rinse off leaves and organic stains, and skip rock salt and de-icers the first winter. That's the whole maintenance routine.

What affects the price

  • Square footage and shape
  • Single color vs. multi-color, and stamp-pattern complexity
  • Borders, bands, and custom detail
  • Tear-out of an existing patio
  • Sealing and any anti-slip additive

Common questions

Is stamped concrete slippery?
The texture gives grip on its own. For pool decks we add an anti-slip additive to the sealer.
Will it crack?
Base, reinforcement, and control joints cut into the pattern manage movement. Hairline cracking is always possible with concrete but stays minimal when the slab is built right.
How long does the color last?
Integral color is permanent. Surface color and stain last for years; the sealer over them needs refreshing every few years.
Can you stamp over my existing patio?
Yes, with a bonded overlay — if the slab underneath is sound and hasn't settled.
